I was 41 years old when I had my first and only child. Suddenly I was 52 and when I looked in the mirror I didn’t know who was looking back at me.
I walked into my daughter's room at school and realized I was the oldest looking mom in the room, although I wasn’t the oldest. I am 4’11'' and my weight was at the highest it has ever been my whole life. I was pushing 156 pounds. I couldn’t walk up the stairs in my house without experiencing shortness of breath.
I hated going out with my family because I felt awful. My only goal in life was to be a role model for my daughter and I couldn’t do that. My family and friends would make comments like “You look Fine you are getting older, that's what happens”.
I couldn’t accept that so I went on a journey to lose the extra weight I put on. I tried every weight loss program available and spent thousands of dollars to lose only 5-10 pounds in 6 months and then gain 20 pounds back. Weight loss coaches told me it's a slow process, I have to be determined.
I was at the end. I was considering weight loss surgery but Doctors told me I wasn't obese and wouldn’t be considered. I was so lost until I met Dr. Heather Smith. A friend told me to go see Dr. Smith to check my hormone levels. Maybe that was the problem?
Dr Smith sent me for an extensive blood panel and put me on a three month hormone plan. I was skeptical but desperate. I started feeling so much better right away but I was still struggling with my weight.
So one day at my visit with Dr. Smith I asked her if she knew of any weight loss programs that would help me. I listed off everything I have tried already. She said that she started a new Semaglutide injection that might help.
She explained the process and again I was skeptical as nothing had helped yet but I decided to give it a go. I lost two pounds the first week and then the next and the next. I didn’t experience any side effects. I felt more focused and energized.
I lost a total of 45 pounds in a very short time. I now only use the Semaglutide for maintenance. The weight is staying off and I look better than I ever had and feel amazing. I feel like me again.
I look in the mirror and I love what I see. When you look good and feel good everything in your life changes. I am more patient with my emotions.
I am more chilled with my family. My conversations are more positive and I'm not such a Debbie downer anymore.
Dr. Smith has changed my life and I am more grateful to her than I could ever express.
